What our clients say about working with us
We do not ask clients for glowing endorsements. What we hope to hear is that the work was genuinely useful — and that the report reflected their reality, not a template.

We had been talking about 'going digital' for two years without much clarity on what that actually meant for us. The readiness review gave us a structured way to think about it. The report was direct — it pointed out that one area we thought was a priority actually wasn't — and that kind of honesty was exactly what we needed.

The technology advisory saved us from a decision we would likely have regretted. We were quite far along with one vendor when Tessera Works helped us articulate what we actually needed — and it turned out the original vendor was not well suited to our context. The shortlist they produced was genuinely balanced, not a list of favourites.

We booked the workshop as a way to get our leadership team aligned before making any decisions. The facilitation was measured and gave space for people who don't usually speak up in meetings to contribute. The written summary captured the conversation well — it's something we still refer back to in our own planning sessions.

What I appreciated most was that the consultant didn't arrive with a view already formed. The questions she asked in the interviews were genuinely curious, not leading. The report reflected nuances about our business that we hadn't articulated ourselves — which told me she had actually listened.

The pricing was transparent and exactly as quoted. No surprises at the end. For a company our size, that matters — we can't absorb unexpected consulting fees. The deliverable was also genuinely useful at board level, which isn't always the case with external reports.

We returned for a second engagement after the readiness review. The workshop that followed a year later felt like a natural extension of the first conversation. There is real continuity in how Tessera Works works — they remember context, which makes each session feel less like starting over.

A few situations we have worked through
Challenge
A distribution company with 60 staff had been using a combination of spreadsheets and a decade-old inventory system. Leadership knew something needed to change but had been told by three different vendors that each vendor's product was the right answer.
What We Did
Conducted a readiness review that mapped how inventory information actually flowed across the organisation. Identified that the primary friction was not the software but a data entry process that could be adjusted without any system change.
Outcome
The client deferred a significant software purchase, addressing the process issue first. Six months later, they proceeded with a technology selection engagement — this time with much greater clarity about what they actually needed.
Digital Readiness ReviewChallenge
A professional services firm was planning to replace its project management and billing system, with a budget already allocated. The internal champion for the new system had a preferred vendor in mind and was looking for a process to confirm rather than evaluate the choice.
What We Did
Developed a requirements document through structured interviews with the teams who would use the system daily — not just leadership. The requirements surfaced several needs that the preferred vendor's product did not address well.
Outcome
The shortlist included two alternatives to the original preferred vendor. The firm ultimately chose one of the alternatives. The decision took longer but had greater buy-in from the teams who would be using it daily.
Technology AdvisoryChallenge
A family-run manufacturing business had a leadership team where views on digital tools ranged from enthusiastic early adopters to deeply sceptical long-serving managers. Previous conversations had become unproductive because the gap between those positions was so wide.
What We Did
Ran two half-day workshops with the leadership team, preceded by individual interviews. The sessions focused on articulating specific pain points rather than abstract positions on technology, which helped to narrow the gap considerably.
Outcome
The team reached a shared view on two modest improvements worth making in the near term, with agreement to revisit larger decisions after seeing how those adjustments landed. A more productive internal dynamic going forward.
